Part 1 – Athens
This will be a different kind of blog. It will have next to nothing to do with Lacrosse. We just returned from a wonderful two weeks in Greece, and with the help of a sampling of the hundreds of photos I took, I will try to share our excursion with you. Since, we were there for so long, and visited four different places, I will break it into several parts.
After landing at 5am, we travelled by Taxi into Athens. We stored our luggage in a locker around the corner from our Air BnB, until we could check in at 11am. So, we began our exploration of the Ancient City.
Our second day in Athens, we had scheduled a guided tour of the Acropolis! The ruins on the mountain, are truly awesome! There are a number of ruins, but the crowning glory is the Parthenon!
After the tour, we got lunch and explored some other areas of Athens, including the Panathenaic Stadium, where we took a self guided tour. It s an amazing ancient stone structure (it has been renovated) that was the site of the first Olympic Games.

Truly, other worldly!
Memories that will last forever!!
