It has been more than two months since I have posted. I just decided to take a little break.
During the hiatus, I have actually been quite busy. Back in November, Karl and I attended a Charity Boxing event, to support one of my former Old Westbury Lacrosse Players (she crushed it!).

In the interim, I made three separate trips to the Condo and got in a total of ten days of snowboarding! It snowed each time I was up there, and the conditions were terrific. Now that we have begun practicing again, my snowboarding season is over. It was great while it lasted!

In a tradition going back 50 years (I think), we played football Thanksgiving morning, at Huntington High School! (followed by refreshments at Finnegan’s) It is one of my favorite events of the year.

This year we spent Christmas in a big, beautiful Air BnB on Canandaigua Lake, about twenty five minutes from where Diana and Jon live. It was different, but great in its own way.

For New Year’s Eve, we went to a surprise 50th Birthday Party for my cousin, Tim Barrett, in Great Barrington, MA. It was a really great party followed up by a delicious brunch the next morning! Both were hosted by Camille’s (Tim’s wonderful Girlfriend) mother, Jennie, in her amazing new house.

Now, it’s back to Lacrosse! We have already had two weeks of practice, which has mostly gone pretty well, I think. We have our first scrimmage, one week from today! I think we are all looking forward to competing against someone, other than ourselves. It should be a good opportunity for us to measure our progress and to see where we are. As I have mentioned before, this year’s squad has a lot of new faces, and I expect it to take some time, to build the kind of chemistry we will need, if we are to reach the high level of lacrosse, we hope to play. So far, the team has been working hard and definitely improving. The start of a new season, so full of promise and potential, is always exciting. I am looking forward to the journey. I hope you will come along for the ride.

Go Lions!
