Two months ago I posted for the first time in almost three months! We had just moved into our Condominium in the beautiful Village of Babylon. At that point in time, I had begun a trial at a Gym within walking distance and was beginning to think about getting back to playing some golf, going to the beach and trying to get acclimated to our new abode. All of that changed the next morning, when I woke up with my back all locked up and all kinds of “nerve pain” in my right leg. And so began my current back saga.
In a nutshell, after a few visits, I decided to move on from my Chiropractor, and see an Orthopedist. I have now had an MRI (first ever for me, and sooo much fun, when you cannot get comfortable and have to remain motionless!), which revealed two herniated discs and two bulging discs. I have been to a Pain Management Doctor, who mercifully gave me an epidural injection, which thankfully started me on what I hope is, the road to recovery!
During that miserable month, before the injection, I could not sleep for longer than an hour at a time and was unable to walk more than about 30 yards before having to stop. It was mostly, miserable – EXCEPT FOR ONE THING!
Two days before the injection, our First Grandson arrived, nearly three weeks early! I think Teddy knew that his Grandfather could use a boost!

While, my condition has been improving, I have been depressed (not clinically) with the pace of progress, at times. Thankfully, Karl, Elise and Teddy, live nearby, and we have been getting to see them often. I know it has just begun, but I really love being a Grandparent!

The rest of the time, I have been doing Physical Therapy (which I can now walk to), exploring our new surroundings with lots of longer and longer walks. There is no clear prognosis for my back, though I have returned to the Gym (limited action though), and am guardedly optimistic. Debi and I have also been trying to sample the many fine restaurants in Babylon. We have loved them all, so far!

So, while things may not have gone as planned, Life is Still Good! I have even checked out a couple of High School Football games, including Homecoming this past Saturday!
