For a number of reasons, that I won’t get into, it has been more than five months since I posted a blog. It has been a long and sometimes difficult period of time. Thankfully, over the past couple of weeks, things have improved and it seems like we have turned a corner.
Back in the fall, I ran into Emily Pepe at the Breast Cancer Awareness Walk at Jones Beach. I had not seen her in several years but knew she had recently become the Head Women’s Lacrosse Coach at Molloy University. After saying hello and chatting briefly, she asked me if I might be interested in coaching. I was pretty surprised and asked for a couple of days to think it over. I had not really been thinking about getting back into coaching on the college level. I could not get the idea out of my head. The more I considered it the more excited I got. So, to make a long story shorter, I decided to pursue it and ultimately was hired to be one of three assistant coaches at Molloy. The only real drawback, I could come up with, was that my commitment to the team would cause me to curtail my snowboarding (no small consideration, but not enough to make me decline). I have not regretted the decision at all and have enjoyed the coaching even more than I thought I would.
Our first regular season game is in a few hours (7pm tonight). It occurred to me that my very first blog post was basically setting the stage for my travels and observations during Diana’s Senior Season at Mercyhurst (it was 2019!). So here we are again. I am hoping to bring you along for what I hope will be a wonderful journey with the 2023 Molloy Women’s Lacrosse Team!

Go Lions!
